Traditional Soft to Ultra Soft Bristled Toothbrushes

Positives:

  • Unless you are brushing perfectly, you are likely missing places

Toothbrushing Tips

  • Brush for 2 minutes. Set a timer if your toothbrush does not have one.
  • Angle your brush at a 45 degree angle towards your gums. Nearly all plaque builds up along the gumline and in between teeth.
  • Use a fluoridated toothpaste and do not rinse after you spit out the excess. The longer the toothpaste sits on your teeth, the better!

    Water Flosser

    Positives:

    • Uses water to irrigate out food and plaque

    • It is not physically touching the tooth so it may leave behind some sticky plaque

    Proxy Brushes

    Positives:

    • Comes in different sizes
    • Great for larger spaces between teeth.

    • Does not remove plaque where the tooth meets the gum, because they clean below that contact point
