BIOLOGICAL DENTISTRY
What We Can Offer
Saliva Testing for Oral Health
We now offer saliva testing to assess various aspects of your oral health. Our tests can detect and analyze:
- Bacteria microflora, including cavity-causing bacteria
- Gum disease and bleeding when flossing (HR5 test) through direct diagnostics
- Five of the highest-risk bacteria, associated with conditions like heart disease and dementia
- Comprehensive testing for bacteria linked to bad breath, cavity formation, gum disease, and commensal/probiotic bacteria
Our HR5 test is a cost-effective option for those on a budget, but we also offer more extensive tests for those seeking additional insights into their oral health.
Mercury-Free Dentistry
We are committed to your well-being, which is why we offer the safe removal of amalgam fillings that contain mercury, a heavy metal that can be challenging for the body to eliminate. Removing these fillings is especially important for individuals concerned about fertility, particularly women.
Mouth-Body Connection
We believe in the mouth-body connection, recognizing that bacteria in your mouth can affect your overall health. Conditions like heart disease and Alzheimer’s can be linked to oral health, and we aim to address these issues by:
- Treating patients with antibiotics and recommending diet changes when necessary
- Advising against anti-microbial rinses, as they can create resistance to bacteria
- Exploring why brushing and flossing may not always be the best approach for you
- Rotating probiotics every three months to prevent overgrowth of harmful bacteria and introduce beneficial microbes
Finding the Root Cause
Our biological dentistry approach focuses on finding the root cause of dental and overall health issues, rather than merely treating symptoms. We have a nutritionist on hand to help you address concerns like dry mouth, offering holistic solutions to enhance your well-being.
Treating the Whole Body
At Diablo Dental Group, we are dedicated to treating the whole body. Your oral health is intimately connected to your overall health, and our biological dentistry services are designed to support your well-being from the inside out.
